Another Great Night in the Cemetery! Eating Burgers and Drinking Bourbon With Beethoven.
Another superb Greenwood Cemetery — Angels Share event unleashed the hundreds of years old ghost of Beethoven while hundreds of folks tasted some of the finest bourbon brewed in Brooklyn and beyond also featuring two of the best burgers made in heaven. What a fabulous night it was too. On arrival, a five-piece band with a charming vocalist was playing some contemporary tunes. While they made music, I roamed through the cemetery tasting some great whiskeys by Angel’s Envy, Blackened American Whiskey, Five & 20, NY Distilling Co, Van Brunt Stillhouse, Widow Jane, and several more. My vote was for that smooth-talking Widow Jane. She sweet talked me right into slumber after I tried two burgers by outstanding burger-meisters from Harlem Public and Madcap Cafe that were competing for the golden Spatula, a worthy reward for all that flipping goodness. They were both distinctive as Harlem Public smeared some peanut butter on their toasted bun and had some finger licking good bacon soaked in bourbon piled on top, while Madcap Café made a delicious slightly spicy burger and cheese affair that was more my style.
