Cellist Kian Solanti and Pianist Aaron Pilsan Create an Exuberant Tempest at Carnegie Hall
Review:
Two superb musicians recently gave outstanding performances at a Carnegie Hall recital which was met by a standing ovation. In masterful sync with each other and exciting to watch, like two young lions playing in a field of grass on a sunny day. Watching them respond to each other emotionally through the music seemed almost at times as if they were in a fencing match playing on the same team. They are Bregenz born Persian artist Kian Soltani, a 26-year-old virtuoso cellist who comes from a family of musicians and 24-year-old Aaron Pilsan, an internationally acclaimed pianist from Austria, both of whom are on their way to stardom.
In 2017 Mr. Soltani signed an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon. His understanding of the complexity of the music and the depth in which he plays matches the acute needs of great composers such as Schumann and Beethoven. He understands the music from the very bottom of his soul but plays it with a quality of carefree Joie de vie that is paralleled only by great musicians for these multifaceted pieces.
