And the Tony Award Goes to Reverend Canon Carl F. Turner of St Thomas Church!

Not really, but I’d like to give it to him if I could. I can only compare the Rectors readings to the delicious icing on top of a scrumptious Christmas Cookie. He gave entertaining flight to Ogden Nash’s “The Boy Who Laughed at Christmas” as well as John Julius Norwich’s “The Twelve Days of Christmas”; between musical works marvelously performed by the St Thomas Boys Choir during their annual Christmas concert with vibrant conducting by Jeremy Filsell. The young boys in their red robes sang gorgeously to we weary travelers from all over the New York area and elsewhere. And how we needed it, considering all the arcs of the endless pandemic in these often -overwhelming times in which we live. Smartly, the boys sang with their masks on. Yet, we still heard the loveliness come through the muffled mouths of these angels, as evidenced by their intention and intonation. Performances such as these laced with impeccable harp strings plucked by Parker Ramsay fluttered in the audience's ears like angels’ wings. Beautiful, beautiful. Delicate and graceful, his playing of Rhapsodie Pour Le Harpe was a balm to the senses. And the uniquely formidable organ music performed by Nicolas Haigh raised the audience up to the sky.
