REVIEW: Not one of my more exceptional experiences at BAM, I found this experimental work based on Chekov’s The Three Sisters by Brazilian director Christiane Jatahy “What if We Went to Moscow?” less competent than the original but more interesting, maybe…At times. The first half took place in the reality of the theater at the BAM Fisher, where things happen in real-time, and the actors can cut right into the fourth wall of their existence to offer refreshments to the audience. It can be more disturbing in some ways and not in others when things happen in flesh and blood. The second part rewinds on film with small nuances in BAM’s Rose Cinema. There the perspective shifts as we see things up close but not with the same authenticity of real-time. Its alternative freedom showcases the finer
